Camille comes from the Côte du Py vineyard, one of Beaujolais' best and, thanks to Foillard, most famous sites. Lapierre lays bare all of the class that Côte du Py is capable of. It delivers the site's spiced, wild cherry signature with captivating detail and vividness.
The 2019 Camille shows the concentration, punch, and an extra dimension of complexity that Lapierre gains in riper vintages. In addition, it delivers beautiful aromatics, plenty of textural appeal, and a gorgeous lift. On the finish, you get a crunchy, soil-inflected minerality.
Ever since Camille's first vintage in 2013, we've bought every bottle available to us. It's never been enough. In 2019, the combination of frost, hail, and high temperatures reduced yields greatly making a very limited wine even more so. Our advice is to take advantage of this offer while you can.
