Value In Red Burgundy:
2017 Jouan Coteaux Bourguignons

Posted by Ian McFadden

In any vintage, Jouan's Coteaux Bourguignons is a wine that the staff drinks by the caseful. It's hard to argue with its liveliness and irresistible texture...

And of course, its value.

The 2017 takes this to a new level. It's a bright, refreshing, and mineral vintage.

We recently had a chance to pick up another parcel, and I jumped on it. It's exceedingly rare that I get to offer red Burgundy with this much character at as low as $25.95 per bottle.

The Coteaux Bourguignons is all Pinot Noir and boasts a dark-fruited profile with a silky mouthfeel. We’re always taken by this bottle’s feeling of honesty and immediacy and, at the same time, refinement. There are wonderful aromatics of earth, game, and high-toned floral notes.

Jouan’s wines are, above all else, about purity. Across the entire range, they thrive on subtlety and finesse. You definitely sense this in the 2017 Coteaux Bourguignons. There are bright red fruits, earth, spice, and minerality. All of this is delivered with nice clarity.

I'll cut this short. Our parcel isn't huge, and Jouan's Coteaux Bourguignons has a big fan club. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.
