"This is a fine Meursault villages and worth a look."
2023 Roulot Meursault Villages

Roulot's 2023s are simply dynamite.

Jean-Marc's 2023 collection was the greatest group of white Burgundies that I tasted during a recent trip to Burgundy. No one made 2023 whites with a similar level of focus and elegance. The group that I was traveling with left the Roulot tasting dumbfounded by how good the wines were.

Today, I'm very happy to offer Roulot's 2023 Meursault Villages.

In any vintage, Roulot's Meursault is world-class. It is razor-sharp, indisputably noble, and emphatically mineral. Roulot makes some of the most riveting expressions of Chardonnay on earth, and the Meursault Villages makes this clear.

The 2023 Meursault showcases everything that makes the collection this vintage extra-special. There's so much precision, length, and harmony to the wine. There's also this cutting, mineral elegance (that I love) accented by stone fruits, flowers, and ripe citrus notes.

The fact that Roulot's Meursault exists on its own plane isn't surprising. Besides being one of the masters of Chardonnay, Jean-Marc Roulot sources the Meursault from great lieu-dits. The majority comes from Clos de la Baronne, with the remainder coming from Les Gruyaches, Narvaux, Sous la Velle, and Les Crotots.

This is an extraordinary vintage for Roulot's Meursault Villages. I'm really happy to have the opportunity to offer the wine. It should not be missed.

Burghoud: "Much like the Champs Fulliot, this is quite floral in character with its aromas of pear and apple compote and citrus confit. The succulent, round and highly seductive medium weight flavors are not quite as refined but they are more generous and just as persistent on the lingering, balanced and solidly complex finale. This is a fine Meursault villages and worth a look."
