The Razor's Edge: 2014 Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Séchet

Posted by Ian McFadden

When you start tasting 2014 Chablis, it becomes clear that it's an epic vintage.

The short version is that it combines classicism with mineral-drenched concentration.

We consistently love Dauvissat's Séchet. For us, it's one of the unheralded bottles in his line-up. But in 2014 Séchet really comes into its own.

Séchet is for purists. It’s a bottling that boasts deep cut and a blatant expression of Chablisian saline minerality. There’s a directness and elegance to Séchet that always impresses us.

The extra layer of concentration that 2014 brings took Séchet to another level. There's Séchet's classic razor's edge of textured minerality and then, the vintage kicks up the punch, length and presence. Simpy put, this is a thrilling bottle of Dauvissat.

The excitement over 2014 Chablis is enormous and Dauvissat is one of the region's elite. I don't feel a need to fan the fire any further. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
