Montevertine's Rosso di Toscano is a bottle that we have a deep affection for. We've had absolutely brilliant bottles with over a decade of age.

While Le Pergole Torte is the pinnacle of the estate, there are vintages where the gap between Pergole Torte and the Montevertine bottling narrows considerably. The 2022 is just such a vintage.
In any vintage, the Rosso di Toscano stands out with its elegance and refinement. There's an effortless, heartfelt, and graceful quality to the wine that always amazes us. When you combine this with the wine's nuanced complexity, you get a clear picture of why we consider Montevertine's Rosso di Toscano an essential part of our Italian program and why it's a fixture in our cellars.
The 2022 boasts power and class. The punch and layers of dark fruits give you the impression of the ripe vintage. Still, you get plenty of the finesse that we just spoke of, along with a luminous undercurrent of energy and high-toned floral notes. As always, it offers up a beguiling set of aromatics with incredibly expressive notes of red fruits, herbs, spice, and floral notes.
Montevertine is in Radda, one of the coolest, highest-altitude spots in the Chianti Classico zone. It is here, and in Montevertine's hands, that Sangiovese reaches an unparalleled level of nobility.
The 2022 is an absolutely beautiful example of this wine. Sadly, pricing continues to increase, but there's simply nothing quite like this wine when it's firing on all cylinders.Â

Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media: "The 2022 Montevertine is a total stunner. Readers will find a wine of uncommon depth and resonance, all in the classic Montevertine style with the purity of fruit of today's wines. Dark red cherry, red plum, blood orange, pomegranate, spice, menthol and rose petal stain the palate. All the elements are so well balanced. Silky tannins are completely incorporated in the wine's fabric. This is super-impressive. Montevertine is increasingly the wine for the shrewd consumer to buy here."
