The Origin and Apogee of Mosel Pinot Noir:
2022 Stein Pinot Noir “Red Light” & Pinot Noir “Waechter”

Stein’s Pinot Noir “Red Light” has become an iconic bottling; it is a bright, red-fruited arrow, as sharp as the slate on which it is grown. Stein’s top Pinot Noir, the “Waechter,” has all of this energy yet has more breadth and depth.

Stein "Ohne" Library Releases

There are two key differences in the bottlings. The regular "Ohne" is picked earlier and aged in old Fuder. The "Ohne" Heinrich is picked later, representing the top selections, and is aged in smaller barrels.

Overnoy and the Mosel:
Stein's Amazing Ohne Sekt Reserve

This is a wildly complex sparkling Riesling, profoundly deep and layered. It has notes of candied ginger, apple skins, brioche, almond skins, and savory herbal, soil, and mineral notes.

Lauer GG:
The Saar in Technicolor

For the collector new to dry Riesling, these are both simply benchmark wines. For the purist, there is almost nothing these wines don’t have. For reasons that are honestly unclear to most savvy buyers in the know, Lauer's Grand Crus can be had at prices that are more than reasonable.

"Spätlese does not get better than this"
2021 Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Spätlese

Müller crafts the most consistently magical Rieslings on the planet.

2019 Weiser-Künstler Enkircher Ellergrub Kabinett

Ellergrub is Weiser-Künstler's top site.

"No stone should be left unturned in order to lay one’s hands on some 2019 Willi Schaefer wines"
2019 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Beerenauslese Half-Bottles & Full-Bottles

This is a dazzling vintage for this estate that seems to never miss. The three wines from Schaefer's 2019 collection that I've been fortunate enough to taste were stunning.

"Andreas and Barbara Adam really nailed the 2018 vintage."
2018 AJ Adam Dhron Riesling In der Sängerei

In 2018, Adam turned out one of his most impressive collections of the past decade.

They represent one of the high notes of the 2018 vintage. You would be hard-pressed to find a set of wines that possess as much verve and finely etched minerality.

The Undeniable Magic of Müller:
QbA to Eiswein

To state the obvious, the wines of Egon Müller are world-class.

In terms of combining intensity and weightless refinement, Müller is without peer.

Willi Schaefer: 2002-2018

"A huge success"
2019 Egon Müller Scharzhof QbA

Typically QbA is a humble category, housing producers' "Estate" wines. They can be nice wines, but seldom are they profound.

Müller's QbA transcends the entire designation. It's without peer.
