Saving The Best For Last:
2018 Tribut Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet

Posted by Ian McFadden

For the past few weeks, we've offered Tribut's amazing 2018 Chablis.

Today, I'm happy to offer Côte de Léchet. I should warn you that we have a very modest parcel.

I have a particular soft spot for the mineral precision of Côte de Léchet. It seems that I'm not alone - Côte de Léchet always sells out quickly.

Côte de Léchet has a sleeker and more pointed minerality. It delivers a deeply etched saline minerality and bright cut.

The 2018 Côte de Léchet offers up plenty of punch. Like Tribut's other 2018s, the Côte de Léchet is textured and powerful. Here, you get a very prominent oceanic element that makes Chablis so distinctive. There's a really appealing stony incisiveness on the finish.

For the Chablis obsessed, the wines of Laurent Tribut are legendary. Côte de Léchet is often at the top of people's lists. I expect this modest parcel to disappear quickly.

Burghound: "The hallmark citrus nuances are present on the white-fleshed fruit, quinine and sea breeze-inflected aromas. I very much like the intensity of the stony and delicious middle weight flavors that deliver good if not truly distinguished depth and persistence on the balanced finale."
