Foillard sources the Fleurie from the renowned Champagne lieu-dit. This south-facing vineyard produces wines of soaring aromatics, serious depth, and irresistible texture.
His Fleurie is exceedingly lithe and super-fine in its texture, a delicacy that this Cru is renowned for. Few wines exemplify Fleurie as well with its silken plum fruits and charming elegance, revealing perfumed aromatics of strawberry and plums mingling with a clear soil expression and minerality.
The 2023 strikes a lovely balance between richness and energy. It's very layered and is cast in velvet. It stands out due to its purity of fruit and nicely delineated aromatics.Â
I'll wrap this up. Foillard makes some of the best and most loved Beaujolais. Anytime that we offer Foillard, the response is very strong. The wines are simply among the great expressions of Beaujolais.
