In Top Form:
2019 Chevillon Nuits-St-George Vieilles Vignes

Chevillon’s NSG consistently outperforms its category, and the 2019 vintage transcends an already high bar.

Their Nuits has long been one of my bulletproof village Burgundies. The 2019 ups the ante in a serious way.

Chevillon's style is deep and structured - they are what we reach for when seeking a ruggedly honest, serious Burgundy. The wines age in amazing ways. The Nuits VV benefits from a decade-plus of aging.

All of this helps to explain why Chevillon's NSG is one of the time-tested Burgundy values.

The 2019 flaunts Chevillon's signature wild complexity.  There's no doubt that this is a powerful vintage for the wine with plenty of muscle. However, there's also a stern minerality and radiant energy.

Here you have many of the qualities that have made the 2019 red Burgundies so sought after. The best offer a really impressive combination of concentration, soil notes, and freshness.

There are few domaines that I respect as much as Chevillon. The NSG VV is one of the village wines that I buy for my cellar every year. Tasting top vintages, like the 2002, makes me have very high expectations for the 2019.

Burghound: "Dense aromas of black cherry, plum, earth and whiffs of wood and the sauvage give way to sleek, delicious and detailed flavors that are finer but not denser, all wrapped in an equally attractively textured finish that is more structured. This too is very good for its level plus it should reward up to a decade of cellaring."
