Don't Miss Northern Rhône:
2015 Souhaut Syrah

Posted by Ian McFadden

The smart move is to keep this offer brief.

Our recent Souhaut offers have sold out quickly.

Souhaut is making some of the most beautifully expressive and delicious wines in the Northern Rhône. It's impossible not to take notice, especially in the 2015 vintage.

Souhaut's Syrah comes from the Ardeche, not far from St. Joseph. Even though this is one of his entry level bottles, it's one of my favorites. What I've always loved about this bottling is its immediacy and classic profile of Syrah's savoriness and perfume. I've called Souhaut's wines habit-forming, and there's no wine of his that I've drunk more of than the Syrah.

The 2015 is a not to be missed version of the wine. At their best, the 2015s combine vigor and snap with a penetrating concentration. Everything seems to be in the right place. This is why there's a huge amount of excitement over the vintage.

The 2015 Syrah presents the classic notes of violets, olives, herbs, and a jet black minerality with absolute clarity. Everything is accentuated. There's more refinement, textural allure, punch and depth.

Souhaut is a small domaine with a large following. Based on our recent offers, my advice is not sleep on this. Souhaut's wines have a tendency to disappear quickly.
