“An impressive blend of power and finesse” -
2013 Benetiere Côte-Rôtie Cordeloux

In Côte-Rôtie, Bénetière may very well be without peer in terms of balance, detail and streamlined mineral elegance.

Bénetière's 2013s consolidate all of these qualities brilliantly.

We've been blown away by the 2013 vintage in Côte-Rôtie. The wines are profoundly mineral, structured and have a vibrant core of acidity. There's a finesse and energy that deeply impresses. The aromatics explode from the glass with amazing clarity.

When we had an opportunity to purchase a second parcel of Bénetière's 2013 Côte-Rôtie Cordeloux, we jumped on it. The 2013 Cordeloux is the most exciting version that we've seen from Bénetière since 2010.

Côte-Rôtie is famous for being the most Burgundian expression of Syrah. Bénetière highlights these qualities with its lithe frame of jet-black minerals, floral notes and dark fruits. There's intensity, for sure, but the presentation is nimble and bright.

With the 2013, Bénetière gets you incredibly close to the beating heart of Côte-Rôtie and its profound beauty. The wine delivers incredibly pure notes of olives, spice, flowers and earth. It does this with tremendous verve, clarity and punch.

We strongly advise you to jump on this. Bénetière only has 2.5ha, and the small production is quickly snapped up by insiders. It's very likely that this will be the last shot at the glorious 2013.

2013 Bénetière Côte-Rôtie Cordeloux

Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media: "Brilliant ruby. Sexy, mineral-accented dark berry and floral pastille scents show excellent clarity and hints of olive and cola. Sweet and energetic on the palate, offering juicy black and blue fruit flavors and zesty cracked pepper and allspice nuances. Shows an impressive blend of power and finesse on a very long, youthfully tannic finish that leaves a lively blueberry note behind."
