“Most impressive and very clearly built-to-age”-
2014 De Montille Corton Charlemagne

Corton-Charlemagne is one of the most captivating, complex and long-lived expressions of Chardonnay on earth.

It combines richness and depth with an ethereal, featherweight elegance. The result is absolutely breathtaking.

De Montille captures all of the regal grandeur of the Grand Cru with dazzling clarity and mineral-drenched refinement. Given the superb quality of the 2014 vintage, it's no surprise that this is a mesmerizing edition of the wine.

The 2014 White Burgundies flaunt a stunning combination of concentration, purity and verve. There's mineral-driven intensity combined with a shimmering, crystalline elegance. All of this adds up to one of the most exciting and aggressively hunted vintages for White Burgundy of the past couple of decades.

The 2014 vintage highlights everything we love about Corton-Charlemagne. De Montille’s 2014 delivers spellbinding notes of brilliant citrus, stone fruits, soil and florals, with a riveting saline streak. While there’s immense depth and a grandness of scale, it’s balanced by a tensile energy and agility.

For over a decade, brother and sister Etienne and Alix De Montille have been at the helm of their family's domaine. Alix, who is the winemaker for the domaine's white wines, has emerged as one of the most impressive talents in White Burgundy. She also just happens to be married to Jean-Marc Roulot.

De Montille is one of the iconic domaines of the Côte de Beaune, known for epically long-aging wines. The 2014 struts a deep, chiseled structure that forecasts a long life ahead. As the Burghound quote above indicates, this is a wine to bury deep in your cellar. Don't miss.

2014 De Montille Corton Charlemagne

Burghound: An ultra-pure and fresh nose of green apple, spiced pear and citrus blossom gracefully slides into overtly stony and powerful broad-shouldered flavors that despite their significant size and weight, are crystalline in their transparency on the superbly long and well-balanced finale. This is most impressive and very clearly built-to-age so note well that this is definitely going to require some patience.
