Morgon Benchmarks in Magnum: 2014 Foillard & Lapierre

Posted by Joe Salamone

I'm going to keep this short. Foillard and Lapierre are Beaujolais benchmarks. In 2014, magnums of their wines are a "don't miss."

It's obvious that word is out on 2014 Beaujolais. Every offer we send sells out quickly.

It's been a very long time since we've seen a Beaujolais vintage with so much depth, texture and drinkability. It's the total package: incredible impact with a radiant clarity and a perfect sense of vivacity.

2014 is a vintage where Lapierre's wine hit an incredibly high level. The wines are unusually complicated, impactful and structured without sacrificing any of the gulpability that makes them irresistible every vintage.

We love Lapierre's 2014s for their depth, seductive texture and elegance. After I drank my first bottle of the 2014, I immediately looked forward to drinking another very soon. It also made me hunt down as many mags as I could put my hands on.

Foillard's Côte du Py is one of the most iconic Beaujolais. It delivers a meaty depth and a wild cherry perfume that's beautifully compelling. As you can guess, in 2014 all of this is delivered with extraordinary substance and poise.

I'm going to wrap this up. There's really not much more that needs to be said since we're dealing with two of the greatest and most famous Beaujolais producers. Please just keep in mind that a very limited amount of these magnums are available. If our past '14 Beaujolais offers are any indication, these will sell out in no time.
