Laurent Ponsot is one of the most singular and compelling minds in all of Burgundy, and his wines reflect that. A bit of an iconoclast, Ponsot produces some of the most individual Burgundies you'll ever taste, and some of the best.
There's simply nothing like them in the Cote d'Or. They're deeply textured, with intensely powerful dark fruit. And yet, these are wines of incredible vividness and refinement. Clos de la Roche is the pinnacle of his signature style.
The 2013 is a very important vintage for Clos de la Roche. There's a dream brew of structure, supremely textured elegance and kaleidoscopic complexity. There's no doubt that this will go in the history books.
