A Rosé Standing Alone:
2018 Valentini Cerasuolo di Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Posted by Joe Salamone

It's been over three years since we've been able to offer Valentini's Cerasuolo.

After much searching, that comes to an end today.

Valentini's Cerasuolo exists in a stand-alone category. There are a handful of rosés that are hunted down, aged and offer stirring experiences. Think of wines like Château Simone, both Cotats, etc.

Even in this context, Valentini is special in the fascinating textures, complexity and the unique spectrum of fruit, flowers and minerals it offers. There's a waxy density to the wine with an evocative interplay of flowers, cherry fruit, citrus skin, honey and something resembling a scorched earth minerality.

Valentini's Cerasuolo is soaring, mesmerizing and vivid. The wine always wows with its clarity and precision. There's a beautiful harmonious complexity with ripe berries, fresh-cut herbs, wet rocks, saline notes and citrus. There's a thrilling cut and deep structure as well. The 2018 flaunts all the complexity that this wine is capable of.

Having tasted bottles with 5 years or more of age over the years, we're convinced that it's a singularly captivating wine and one of the world's great rosés. We created special 4-pack pricing because you'll want to stock up on the 2018.
