The Undeniable Gaudichots
A Few Rare Bottles of Potel Gaudichots: 07, 06, 05

Today we present a "Saturday Special" - a tiny parcel of wine from the famed Gaudichots Vineyard.

We have SO little wine, and Gaudichots is SO revered, that this offer is only going to a very, very small list. Still, we expect a quick sellout - please respond immediately if you are interested.

Gaudichots, as you likely know if you're getting this email, is special. Gaudichots sits directly next to the Grand Cru La Tâche, the fabled monopole of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. But the relationship is even more complicated: La Tâche was expanded throughout the 1930s and actually subsumed much of what was known as Gaudichots. Today, while La Tâche incorporates over 6 hectares, Gaudichots is a mere 1 hectare.

Nicolas Potel is one of only a few vignerons lucky enough to be able to work with Gaudichots fruit, though his contract has ended and as far as we've heard, 2007 is his last Gaudichots. This all makes today's offering perhaps a bit more poignant.

Potel's Vosne-Romanée Gaudichots is one of the rarest bottles Nicolas produces; it's also one of his best. Gaudichots, flaunting its close relationship with La Tâche, has the thrilling meatiness of its "big brother" vineyard - an incredible density of concentration that is unfathomable almost anywhere else in the Côte d'Or, aside from maybe the Grand Cru sites of Gevrey.

With only a single hectare of vines Gaudichots is, by definition, a very rare bottle. Today we offer no 6-pack pricing, no 3-pack pricing... most likely we'll be allocating this wine on a bottle by bottle (or half-bottle) basis...  this offer is not (unfortunately) about stashing away any serious quantity of Gaudichots - it's simply an attempt to get a geeky little Burgundy score into as many hands as possible.

All of this Potel is in stock and can be shipped immediately...  and PRIME shipping season is now upon us.

Please let us know what you're interested in and we'll allocate as fairly as possible. Please note you may not hear anything from us until Monday.

Please email us at offers@crushwineco.com or call the store at (212) 980-9463 to order.
