Louis Boillot crafted some outstanding wines in the more difficult 2004 vintage. As he's married to Burgundy phenom Ghislaine Barthod, this is a family that lives and breathes wine. In 2005 he has outdone himself, gifted as he was by the near-perfect fruit that has already made the vintage famous.
The 2005 lineup is outstanding; certainly one of Boillot's best - the big scores are justly deserved. Allen Meadows' Burghound gives the lineup lavish praise - one quote speaks volumes: "As the scores and comments confirm, [the 2005s are] by far and away the best vintage I have ever seen at this address and I include in that assessment the wines he made at Lucien Boillot."
