The Only Pricing in the Country

"Robust, intense, broad-shouldered, supremely complex, solidly structured...An altogether superb effort that delivers knock-out quality." - Burghound

Jadot's 2001 Bèze is a stacked wine, dense, muscular and with the guts for another 20+ years. Burghound's review, above and below, speaks to the quality here.

Our medium-sized parcel comes direct from the Domaine and it is very well priced. Call it 50% off the current release (2009) price, or, if you prefer, somewhere around 60-80% off the 2005 price.

We expect a quick sell-out, even though this email is going out only to a select audience of Burgundy buyers.

Please give us your maximum order and do so quickly; this will not last.

Open-top barrels in the fermentation room.

Bobby and I visited Jadot on our trip to Burgundy last year, and we were really struck by the energy, by the seriousness of the entire operation. As you can imagine, the winery is gigantic. After all, Jadot is one of the biggest négociants in Burgundy. Yet the dedication to great winemaking here is unmistakable. It’s fully in evidence, too, in the 01 Bèze, which has all the dramatic yet finely wrought depth and muscle you’d expect from a great Clos de Bèze.

At the Jadot winery, winemaker Jacques Lardière is ever-present, bouncing around with his shock of white hair, talking enthusiastically, visibly excited by the wines, by tasting them, by sharing them. The winemaking team approaches their job with dexterity, sincerity, excitement and an almost tangible passion.

The facilities are as impressive as Jadot’s landholdings. There’s a grand, gorgeous, circular fermentation room with huge open-top barrels surrounding you on all sides. Downstairs, in their massive cellars, you pass row upon row upon row of barrels, all neatly labeled with the epic names of Burgundy: Montrachet, Musigny, Clos de Bèze.

Across the Jadot lineup, these are site-driven wines, honest and impeccably well-made, known for their monster aging potential.

As for the 01 Bèze, it’s still a baby. This probably shouldn’t be touched for another five years, unless you allow it plenty of time to breathe and stretch out. Left alone, it’ll undoubtedly carry on in a cool cellar through at least 2030.

The Burghound’s full tasting note is below for reference. Again, please let us know your maximum order, and we’ll do our best. To order, please email us at offers@crushwineco.com or call the store at (212) 980-9463.

2001 Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze

Burghound: "As it should be, this is easily the biggest wine of the entire line up with robust, intense, broad-shouldered, supremely complex, solidly structured flavors introduced by deeply spicy, quite aromatic and expressive aromas and dramatic finishing intensity. An altogether superb effort that delivers knock out quality."
