2007 Hundred Acre Ark; Kayli Morgan

Hundred Acre: It Just Keeps Getting Better
2007 Ark and Kayli Morgan Cabernet Sauvignon
"Another candidate for perfection." - Robert Parker

We've supported Jason Woodbridge's Hundred Acre wines for the last six vintages.

These have been some of the most requested cult Cali Cabs since the day we opened, they've become Napa royalty on par with the likes of Bond, Colgin and Sloan.

The Hundred Acre Kayli Morgan and Ark Cabernets are full-throttle, seductive and uncompromising, thanks to Jason Woodbridge's fanatical dedication to quality and Philippe Melka's passionate winemaking savvy.

The style at Hundred Acre is hedonistic - "flawlessly constructed," as Parker raves about the 07 Kayli Morgan (this is the "original" Hundred Acre, sourced from a densely planted vineyard just off the Silverado Trail near St. Helena), "with no hard edges, the wine is pure, layered, and sumptuous in the mouth."

The Ark (from a 15-acre parcel on the great Howell Mountain) gets equally ravishing shout-outs as Parker goes so far as to say, "the extraordinary 2007 Ark may be the finest Cabernet Sauvignon I have tasted from that mountain."

Parker's full reviews are below. Thanks to our loyalty to these wines over the years, our allocation of the 2007s is sizeable... but so is the Hundred Acre following; we will do our best to fulfill all reasonable requests.

2007 Hundred Acre Kayli Morgan Cabernet Sauvignon

Parker: The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard possesses a dark plum/purple color as well as an extraordinary bouquet of graphite, creme de cassis, cocoa, and incense. Flawlessly constructed with no hard edges, the wine is pure, layered, and sumptuous in the mouth. The level of sweet, integrated tannins that Woodbridge gets across the field of play is remarkable.

2007 Hundred Acre Ark Cabernet Sauvignon

Parker: Along with David Abreu’s Howell Mountain Cabernet, the extraordinary 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Ark Vineyard may be the finest Cabernet Sauvignon I have tasted from that mountain. A dense purple color is accompanied by a liqueur of wet rocks and minerals intermixed with blueberry, black raspberry, and floral notes, a full-bodied richness, sweet tannin, and extraordinary opulence and fleshiness. This offering may end up with a three-digit score if it keeps performing like this.
