Paul Basick from the Little Wine Company
Paul Basick is one of our favorite small importers bringing in treasures from overlooked producers and regions around the world. I believe this is going to be his inaugural tasting at Crush, which is sort of incredible given the amount of gems we've scored from his maverick portfolio.
Come taste for yourself! We'll pour a bevy of interesting white wines including everyone's favorite California Pinot Gris - Domaine Alfred! Rich and intense with great fruit and a rounding and velvety acidity. A prime candidate for spring/summer sipping!
For the Chablis-heads out there how about one of the best new domaines in this northerly haunt? We'll be pouring de Moor's 2004 Chablis "Rosette" - this is a wine of bone-chilling minerality and frozen winter-air freshness - these wines crackle with tension and have great concentration and weight. This is serious winemaking with aspirations that know no bounds. A producer to watch for sure.
And finally, to round out the night, how about a red-white duo from value-producer Station? The Cabernet Sauvignon is dense and juicy, mouthwatering and round... The Chardonnay has great fullness and is endlessly pleasing - at $14, does it get any better than this?
