Jean et Jean-Louis Trapet
A Small Parcel of Back-Vintage Burgundy
Discounted 20-40%

"Good stuff here built on finesse, not power."
-Burghound

Today a quick, focused offer from our small cellar of back-vintage goodies, focusing exclusively on Domaine Trapet's transparent, finessed Gevrey-Chambertins.

Trapet is no-nonsense Burgundy; Gevreys of good muscle, though they are agile, sinewy, clearer and crisper than most. The Burghound calls them "Old School" - we like that.

We did an offer on a lovely 1998 Trapet Chambertin some months ago and Trapet-fans came out of the woodwork for it - this Domaine has a solid legion of fans that value authentic Burgundy at very reasonable prices.

Today we've discounted them even further - so we'll keep it short because we have only a few cases to offer. These are delightful, real Gevreys, and we wanted the right people to see them. To order, email us at offers@crushwineco.com or call the store at (212) 980-9463.

1998 Trapet Chappelle-Chambertin
Special Email Price: $71.99

Compare at $130
While Chambolle has the reputation of being the “sweet spot” of the 98 vintage, Gevrey produced its share of stunning wines. Trapet’s Chappelle-Chambertin is a case in point delivering rich red fruits that are complicated by sauvage qualities of forest floor and animal fur. The Chappelle is entering maturity and willl be lovely for the next decade.

1998 Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin 1er "Petite Chappelle"
Special Email Package Price: $39.99
Compare at $55-$65
Trapet’s “Petite Chappelle” is drinking beautifully today. The rounded raspberry and cherry fruits balance the vintage’s bright acidity. This too has an earthy dimension that gives further complexity to the wine.

Burghound: "Supremely elegant and ultra pure red pinot fruit aromas that display spice and undertones of violets, anise and the barest trace of crushed herb that complement perfectly the refined, detailed and perfumed flavors that display impeccable finishing balance. Good stuff here built on finesse, not power."

2004 Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin 1er "Clos Prieur"
Speical Email Price: $37.81
Compare at $58
Burghound: "A more elegant and refined nose of sweet redcurrants and briar notes gives way to precise, pure and detailed flavors that have a lovely inner mouth perfume and a linear, punch and persistent finish. This is a wine of finesse and no small understatement yet it doesn't lack for character."
